Every day, countless people are fucking around and finding out, but so few of them are thoughtful enough to capture their humiliation on video for the masses to enjoy. Fortunately for us, one man who thought he’d pull the ol’ bait and switch on a family expecting cheerful Christmas carols recorded the entire thing, so now we get to watch him narrowly avoid getting his ass handed to him.

In the video, the man approaches a family hanging out in front of their house as a little girl rides her bike, and offers to sing them a Christmas carol, to which they respond that they would love that. He then proceeds to quote a video made by Brandon Curington, aka the Erotic Barber, that starts with “Yo yo yo it’s hump day,” and includes significantly more profanity than people expecting to hear a Christmas carol would have been able to anticipate.

As soon as it became clear he wasn’t singing about the most wonderful time of the year but was instead being vulgar in front of children, the kids’ father approached him and told him to cut it out because he didn’t want that kind of language around his children. The cameraman continues his trolling, asking the dad if he’s “not fucking with hump day,” before eventually walking away, only to continue quoting Curington’s video as he walks down the block. The dad can be seen walking toward the cameraman again, threatening to beat the shit out of him and drag him down the block. The troll’s attempted rebuttals about how he boxes fail to impress anyone.

Redditors in r/PublicFreakout were wholly unimpressed. As one commenter put it, “I have no friends, and my family hates me, so I’m gonna film myself making other people’s Christmas shitty,” while another pointed out that the video was particularly upsetting considering how genuinely excited the family initially was about hearing some Christmas carols only to get trolled by a loser. Or maybe in the spirit of the holiday, a real grinch.
